Who We Are

Called to worship, serve, and uplift—guided by faith and committed to meeting the needs of the whole person.

Church Members

Murph-Emmanuel A.M.E. Church is part of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, a denomination founded in 1816 in response to racial injustice and a call for spiritual autonomy. Rooted in faith, justice, and service, the AME Church has a long-standing commitment to uplifting communities and advancing Christ-centered ministry.

Located in North Highlands, California, Murph-Emmanuel A.M.E. Church serves the surrounding community through worship, outreach, and partnership, seeking to meet people where they are and respond to the needs of the whole person.

Today, the church is led by Rev. Cubie Finley III, who guides the congregation in faithful worship, community engagement, and service. The mission of the African Methodist Episcopal Church is to minister to the social, spiritual, and physical development of all people, embodying the spirit of the original Free African Society.
