Biography

Brother Douglas McCastle is a Licentiate at Murph-Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church and is entering his first year of studies with the Board of Examiners of the A.M.E. Church as he prepares for Local Elder ministry. He serves faithfully on the usher board, as a class leader, and as a trustee, and is also certified as an Evangelist in the A.M.E. Church.

Brother McCastle accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and experienced a strong spiritual foundation through private education and church involvement with his grandparents, including his grandfather, a pastor in the United Methodist Church.

Following the passing of his grandfather, life challenges and worldly pressures led him away from the church for a time. His spiritual journey eventually carried him from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Sacramento, California, where he rediscovered his calling and recommitted his life to God’s service. He accepted the call to ministry in 2006 and continues his faithful journey toward becoming a Local Elder, trusting God’s guidance and direction.
